Market Access has been the latest buzzword in the healthcare industry. With an aging global population, growing demand for healthcare combined with increasing economic pressures, the expectations for medicines goes beyond proven safety and efficacy – industry must demonstrate a medicines value for money. Doing so requires a strong evidence base and just as important, honest and open communication between industry, payers and policymakers.
Today and tomorrow I’m attending the 2011 Pharma Pricing and Market Access Outlook conference.
I look forward to listening to, engaging with and challenging industry peers, payers and government representatives from all over the world on what’s happening around us, what it means, and how we must work together to improve the provision of medicines to patients while juggling with ever-changing policies and limited financial resources.
Our role as communicators is becoming ever more critical in supporting our clients develop relationships, engage and collaborate with payers to improve access to treatments.
