Expanding W2O Group Offices Into Silicon Valley

On November 1st, I will celebrate my one-year anniversary at WCG.  To say that I have learned a lot over the last 12 months would be an understatement.  I have grown tremendously in understanding the value of analytics and how data-driven insights can turn into world-class digital marketing programs.  The team and talent that surround me is unexplainable and I am very fortunate to work at a firm that places a high value on culture, collaboration and intelligence.

This is why I am so very excited to announce that we are expanding our offices into Silicon Valley.  Not only is this my hometown – born, raised and still here — but Silicon Valley is the mecca of innovation and home to amazing companies like HP, Intel, Apple, Google, Yahoo!, AOL, eBay and so many others.

Prior to the agency, I grew up working in B2B marketing. Years ago, I worked for HP in their Imaging & Printing Group.  I was responsible for managing paid search for the entire business unit and across all segments – consumer, small business and enterprise. At that time, social was completely in its infancy and I was responsible for helping various teams adopt it as a strategy. I also spent time at Yahoo! and Intel working in various community management and content strategy roles.

Technology is a key business pillar for WCG and by opening this new office; we want to send a message to the market that we are committed to working with and helping B2B clients reach their audiences online with relevant content and experiences.

B2B marketing is challenging and many companies today struggle with:

  • Defining and segmenting an audience (ITDMs, CIOs Data Center Managers)
  • Finding their influencers
  • Determining where a specific audience spends their time online
  • Finding out what’s important to an audience from a content perspective
  • Measuring their existing marketing efforts
  • Thought leadership and telling good stories

Our goal is to help our clients work through some of these challenges using our existing analytics products, communications, content marketing tactics and our holistic PESO approach to marketing (paid, earned, shared, owned media).

As my partner in crime, Michael Brito, states above, we are truly excited about opening our newest W2O Group office in Sunnyvale, CA. While I am not from “The Valley” nor have I been in tech for anywhere near as long as he has, I am just as thrilled to be taking our rapidly growing technology practice to the “Mecca” of technology. Being that much closer to our clients will not only help us service them more effectively but will also help us meet new clients, recruit top talent and be a better overall participant in the future of our industry.

I am personally thrilled to be partnering with someone as smart, savvy and driven as Michael. I tease him about his large Twitter following (he has lots) but it’s merely a proxy for who he is as a person and how much he shares. Michael’s connections in the Valley combined with those of our president, Bob Pearson, our CEO, Jim Weiss, our colleagues, Michael Hall and Paulo Simas along with my own should help us get further faster.

We look forward to spending more time with those of you in the Valley. So if you are ever in the neighborhood, please don’t hesitate to stop by.
